Aloha . . . finally!

I've been wanting to create and post this card for two days now!

This is the card inspired by my Pink Flannel Pajamas that I made for the Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards (STC) swap for January (theme is floral/tropical). I'm really excited, because all of the gals are so fun and talented, and I can't wait to see what they create, plus I have my cards just about done - all that's left is to put the layers all together!

I used SCS Sketch Challenge SC209, but apparently the dimensions for the second panel are off, because mine is larger than everyone else's over there. Oh well, I like it just the same. ;-) I did switch up the placement of the sketch a bit. Oh, and I used a lot of firsts on this card!!

  1. I used my Floral Screen C'bug embossing folder for the first time for the Mellow Moss layer! This would look awesome inked up before embossing too!

  2. I finally used the gorgeous K & Co. "Margo" Mat Pack that Mary (OhioMary) sent me. She sent paper to all the gals in her SkinnyBop swap and tried to match the paper to our tastes. She did a great job, because the whole pack suits me perfectly!

  3. I used silk flowers for the first time on a card and added a few MS fern punch leaves too! Oh, and those flower centers are the pretty mint-green flat-back pearl embellies that Kadie (kmensley) sent me in my Skinny Bop Happy Mail!

  4. And I used my Nestabilities for the very first time and stamped the sentiment on a scalloped oval! Oh My Gosh, these are the best thing since sliced bread! Well, almost . . . I *really* like bread! LOL I added a teeny-tiny pearl to the center of that flower too.

The top two layers are popped up on dimensionals, and everything is layered on Chocolate Chip. On the inside, I used a piece of craft store confetti ivory paper and stamped some little flowers in the upper left & bottom right corners. That's it! I hope the gals in the swap like them!

Dont' forget . . . midnight Monday is the deadline for an entry for Newbie Blogger Blog Candy! Winner will be drawn & announced Tuesday evening. Check out my first (and only other) post for details!

Happy Creating!
